The first trailer of Anubhav Sinha’s Warning is uncannily similar to Hollywood film Open Water 2: Adrift, an almost unknown 2006 film with no big star cast. It was a sequel to Open Water which was based on a true story. Look at the similarities between the two films.
Sinha’s movie is a 3D underwater film about seven friends stuck in the ocean while holidaying on a luxury yacht. The group gets stuck in the water for days after they jump in for a seemingly harmelss swim. Described as India’s first ‘shark attack’ film, in Warning the friends find themselves stranded in shark-infested seas, unable to find themselves back on to their luxury yacht.
Open Water 2: Adrift is about a group of six friends on a luxury yacht. After a day of drinking/sailing, everyone decides to go for a dip but can’t get back on the yacht as they forget to let the ladder down before they jump into the ocean for a swim.
Without the ladder, it proves impossible to climb back in to the boat. They are stuck in the water many miles from shore. Soon, the exhaustion of keeping afloat, coupled with the struggle to get back onboard, both begin to take a terrible toll in the shark infested area. And a fight for survival ensues.
