Foursquare app for Windows 8 launched

The popular social location app Foursquare has launched a new version of its app for Windows 8 or Windows RT, which will be more discovery-centric to let users explore and search for new places or service around pretty easily. Besides this, the app features a revamped interface with a new visual style including vibrant colors, tile-based mapping pattern, full-screen photo viewer, which makes the search prompt and use of the app a visual delight.
Besides the interface, the app now also allows users to know about places that are trending, or are recently opened. The app will also offer tips to users about the best places in nearby areas, recommended places from friends and other sources, directions, expected time to travel, photos and other such information. Moreover, one can put a place in their to-do list and even create customized lists. Besides this, comes the improved review section, and easy recommendations to other friends.
As reported by Wired, the Foursquare search feature is now integrated with the OS functionalities, which will actually let users, including even non-registered ones, choose Foursquare to power their search and access recommendation functionalities without needing to sign up for an account.
