Chinese mobile vendor, Gionee has launched a new smartphone named P2 which caters to the price conscious segment of consumers in India. The phone comes with a dual-SIM support and is available for Rs 6,499.
It features a 4-inch WVGA display offering 480×800 pixels resolution. The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a dual-core Cortex A7 MediaTek 6572 processor cloaked at 1.3GHz with Mali 400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. Other features in the phone include a 5-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and can also record HD videos, a VGA front-facing camera, 4GB of internal storage expanded up to 32GB, 1700mAh battery, connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and sensors like Compass, Light Sensor.
At this price point, the Gionee P2 will be up against the likes of Xolo A500, iBall Andi 4Di, and other devices from domestic brands which offer similar features in this price but run on an older version of Android.
