iPad charger explosion latest in Apple's series of ticking gadget bombs

Tim Gillooley from Cheshire claimed that had his eight-year-old daughter Chloe unplugged
the device, she could have been killed with the shock.
Tech giant Apple’s products seem to be ticking bombs as in the latest incidence of charger
explosion, a 34-year old man suffered a huge electric shock when his daughter’s iPad
charger burst in his hand while unplugging.
Tim Gillooley from Cheshire claimed that had his eight-year-old daughter Chloe unplugged
the device, she could have been killed with the shock.
Gillooley had purchased the iPad from the Apple Store in Liverpool and had noticed that
the iPad had charging problems, however, when he returned it to the Apple Store three
months earlier, he was assured that there was nothing wrong with the charger, Mirror reports.
But he purchased the new official charger and lightening cable to see if it would solve the
problem, but it continued and the explosion burnt Gillooley’s hand.
This is the latest incident to blacken the image of the tech giant as a month earlier a
Chinese woman was killed of electrocution as result of talking on her iPhone 5 while it was
plugged in for charging.
Gillooley said that nine out of 10 times, his daughter would have unplugged the charger,
killing herself adding that they were big fans of Apple but now he won’t let his daughter
near her iPhone if it is a ticking time bomb.
The report added that Apple has asked Gillooley for the charred remains of the charger
but did not comment on the issue.
