Purported high quality photos of the Sony Xperia Z1 surface online

It won’t be wrong to say that Sony’s forthcoming Xperia Z1 (Honami) has been one of the most talked about Android devices in the past few weeks. As we near its unveiling on September 4, the rumor mills continue to throw up leaked photos and Chinese website 365dian.com (via Xperia blog) has posted the first high quality photos of the device.

It’s not clear if what we see in the photos is the final product or just a dummy. Though there’s nothing new revealed in terms of specifications, the photos do show the labels beside the camera, which were missing in the previous leaks. In addition to the ‘G’ logo beside the camera, we also see ‘1/2.3’ and ‘20.7MP’ etched on the device.
The Xperia Z1 is expected to sport a 20-megapixel camera along with a BIONZ image processing engine and will be capable of shooting videos at 4K resolutions. It will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2GB RAM, which we have seen on the Xperia Ultra and feature a 5-inch 1080p display. Like other devices in the Xperia Z range, it too will be water resistant, a feature shown off in a teaser video released by Sony earlier this week.
As we exclusively reported earlier this week, Sony plans to bring the Xperia Z1 to India on September 18.
