Just like Sony, Samsung has sent out invites for an event in Delhi on September 17 where it will most probably launch the Galaxy Note III and Galaxy Gear smartwatch in India. Both the products were recently unveiled ay IFA in Berlin and it just shows the importance of India as a market that all major OEMs are bringing their smartphones to India within weeks of the global launch. In all likelihood the products will go on sale on September 25.
The Galaxy Note III has a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen, a 13-megapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU/ Exynos 5 Octa CPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot and a 3,200 mAh battery. Notably, it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly bean in concert with TouchWiz and has redesigned back that now has a faux leather like finish.
The Galaxy Gear on the other hand, is Samsung’s first foray in the wearable computing space. It has 1.9-inch 320×320 pixel AMOLED screen, a 1.9-megapixel camera and it runs on an 800MHz Exynos CPU and has 70 apps that have been designed for it including a pedometer, and Evernote. Users can also make calls and receive calls using the Galaxy Gear.
