A couple of days ago we reported that Apple was in cahoots with Burberry for a fashion show shoot for which the new iPhone 5S will be used. Now, the shoot is up on YouTube and one can get a relative idea about the camera capabilities of the iPhone 5S.
Burberry says that the 15 minute video was exclusively shot using the iPhone 5S using 14 different iPhones across the venue. They even streamed the videos across billboards, various Burberry stores and social networking platforms like Facebook and Vine.
There is no word about post-production enhancement, but Christopher Bailer, the creative director for Burberry revealed three iPhones were on a moving railing cam, nine were used for runaway shots, one was on the roof and one was on the jimmy rig outside for taking celebrity shots.
Of course, this means that the super stability of the video does not come from the software based stabilization, but more from the hardware assists that were provided to the iPhone 5S.
While, we still have the jury out on the capabilities of the software stabilization of the iPhone 5S, one would imagine being inferior to optical image stabilization that is found on some Nokia Lumia smartphones and the HTC One.
Other enhancements to the iPhone 5S camera include a new 8-megapixel camera with larger 1.5-micron pixels, a larger sensor, an f/2.2 aperture and a new TrueTone flash that combines warm and cold LEDs for better color balance on images for which a flash has been used.
