Ashes urinating controversy: ECB says matter is closed

The 'peeing' incident by the English cricketers after the last Ashes Test might have not gone down too well with the world's cricketing fraternity, but the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not taken it seriously despite knowing how it would damage the game's reputation.

The ECB has decided not to take any action against the three cricketers who celebrated their Ashes win by peeing at the Kennington Oval strip at night when the lights were off. The cricketers in question are Kevin Pietersen, Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
When dna contacted ECB's media director Colin Gibson, he called the matter as 'closed' when asked about what action would be taken by the board.

"The ECB is aware of the reports but the matter is closed," Gibson said.

It may be recalled that the cricketing fraternity slammed England for their antics, with Shane Warne terming it "ordinary and arrogant". England spinner Graeme Swann confessed that his teammates may have urinated on the pitch.
“I think the call of nature might have come once or twice, but it was nothing untoward. It was midnight, a private celebration in the middle of the pitch and the ground was dark,” he said.
