Word leaked last week that Nokia was planning to launch a 6-inch phablet codenamed Bandit and today prolific leaker @evleaks claims that the phablet would be launched as the Lumia 1520. This makes little sense with respect to Nokia’s Lumia naming scheme so far with the Lumia 1020 being the last device and one would expect 1120, 1220, 1320 and 1420 to show up before Lumia 1520. However, given the track record of the source, it could be possible.
Nokia is expected to announced the Bandit at its September 26 event in New York, where it is also expected to launch its first Windows RT tablet codenamed Sirius. The Bandit or Lumia 1520 is expected to feature a 6-inch 1080p display, which won’t only be the biggest but even the first full-HD display on a Lumia smartphone. It is also expected to run on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, another first for a Windows Phone device.
