Micromax Bolt A40 launched with 4.5-inch display and 1GHz processor

Micromax had recently added the Bolt A67 in its low-end smartphone portfolio and has now added the Bolt A40 to the family. The phone runs on an older version of Android and comes with features similar to the Bolt A67. Micromax has not officially released the price of the phone but it is likely to be priced below Rs 5,000.
Feature-wise, the Bolt A40 is basically a stripped down version of the Bolt A67. It has a 4.5-inch TFT display with 480×854 pixels resolution while the previously launched Bolt A67 had a 4.5-inch IPS display. Software-wise the Bolt A40 runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread which is relatively older version of the OS but is a standard offering in phones under Rs 5,000 slab while the Bolt A67 runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Another noticeable difference is the Bold A40 doesn’t support.
Besides these, it has a Spreadtrum SC6820 processor clocked at 1GHz, with 512MB of RAM, 512MB of internal memory and 32GB of expandable memory on microSD. There is a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera, and a 1500mAh battery with 4.5 hours of talktime and 175 hours of standby time. Spreadtrum had invested $10 million in Micromax last year.
The smartphone is listed on the company’s website though there is no information on the pricing.
