Nokia Lumia 1520 launch reportedly pushed to October 22

To the disappointment of those awaiting the launch of the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet might now have to wait for a little longer. Nokia might postpone the release of its much talked about forthcoming phablet from late September to late October, @evleaks suggested by referring to its various sources. Nokia’s first ever phablet, popularly known as the Bandit, has so far been expected to get unveiled on the company’s event on September 26, alongside the Nokia Sirius tablet.
The Lumia 1520 was lately seen in a new bunch of leaked photos which has given us a clear picture of the phablet’s typical polycarbonate unibody design language and about its features. And while the last photo-gallery leak hinted at a nearing launch, the new rumor suggests that it might now be slated for a launch on October 22 instead.
In terms of features, we all know already that this will be the Finnish giant’s first ever phablet, which will come with a 1080p full HD display. Apart from that an interesting feature to look forward to would be the 20-megapixel camera which will shoot photos in 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel resolutions simultaneously, on the basis of the Lumia 1020-like camera tech. Besides, it will also come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and microSD support, a nano-SIM card slot and Microsoft’s GDR3 update.
Knowing that the September has already witnessed some big launches by Samsung and Apple which have intensified the competition already, Nokia could have pushed the launch date of the Lumia 1520 to October possibly to fetch more attention and get a better market response. Though, there still is uncertainty about the launch date. Mind you, Nokia usually hosts its annual “Nokia World” event around that time though we are not certain if that would be the case this year too after Microsoft’s plan to acquire Nokia’s devices and services business.
