Moments ago at the ongoing event at the Cupertino campus, CEO Tim Cook announced an updated version of the iWork suite of apps. More importantly, he also announced that the suite will be offered for free with the purchase of any new Apple iOS device, which runs iOS 7. With the new platform, Apple has included iWork in iCloud that backs-up and makes any iWork file available on any device.
For those who need reminding, Apple’s iWork suite of apps is a set of productivity apps ala Microsoft’s Office. At the Keynote address, Tim Cook described the suite as “the best-selling mobile productivity apps on any platform.” It includes apps like Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Additionally, it also includes iMovie and iPhoto.
