High-quality photos of Sony’s camera lens attachment leaked

Last week, we revealed that Sony’s attachable camera lens would be called the ‘EspressOn’ and it would come in two variants called DSC-QX100 and the DSC-QX10. Now SonyAlphaRumors has posted a set of high quality photos of these lens attachments and claims it will be called Smart Shot, which has been derived from Smartphone and Cyber-shot. Mind you, these are not standalone lenses but complete cameras that will use the phone’s display as the viewfinder.

As seen in the above photos, it will be offered in two color variants— black and champagne gold and white, the latter could go well with the rumored champagne gold iPhone 5S. These camera lens attachments, as we previously reported, will connect to smartphones including the iPhone via Bluetooth allowing extra imaging oomph. The DSC-QX100 is said to feature a 20.2-megapixel sensor, an f/1.8 aperture and 3.6x optical zoom, while the DSC-QX10, will be a cheaper alternative, with an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor and an f/3.5-3.9 lens. Both the lens are also said to include Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
Additionally, SonyAlphaRumors has also come across the likely prices of the above lenses and according to the report, the QX10 will be priced at $250 (Rs 16,500 approximately) and the more expensive QX100 will cost about $200 more and will be available for $450 (Rs 29,700 approximately).
Both lenses are also reported to having a dedicated power button, microphone, display panel for battery and SD card, a tripod mount, a dedicated shutter button, a multifunctional jack, and a zoom lever. We are bound to hear about these lenses at Sony’sSeptember 4 press conference at the sidelines of IFA in Berlin, so stay tuned.
