Ahead of the forthcoming IFA trade show, Acer today also announced its 10-inch Android tablet named Iconia A3, alongside its first 4K recording capable Liquid S2 phablet.
The Iconia A3 comes with a 10.1-inch WXGA IPS display with 1,280×800 pixels resolution. The tablet measures 10.15mm thick and weighs less than 600 grams. The software is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and on the hardware front it will come with a quad-core cortex A7 processor ticking at 1.2GHz (likely to be MediaTek), and comes with Dolby Digital Plus with a virtualized 5.1-channel surround experience over headphones.
The tablet will be available in 16GB and 32GB versions, and will also support microSD for external storage. Additionally, it also has a 5-megapixel rear camera, and connectivity support for microHDMI port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G mobile data connection.
The Iconia A3 will be introduced in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+3G versions. While the Wi-Fi only variant will be available in Europe, Middle East and Africa by early October for €249, the 3G variant will be out for sale during early November for €299. There is no information on availability in India at the moment.
