VIT: Students can switch engineering streams

VIT: Students can switch engineering streams
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has announced a migration scheme where students can shift from one engineering stream to another in any of the years during their course.
This scheme comes as a blessing in disguise for those students who would want to change courses that have certain subjects that they may be more interested in.
There are various universities in the U.S that have this system since they choose to be more liberal in the way they view academics.
One can say, that slowly yet steadily, India is moving towards a more liberal system of education, which is a positive sign for the development of academics and education in the country.
There are a few conditions, of course. The student would have to get 60 per cent marks overall during their current year and 40 per cent in 2 basic papers of the course that they would want to shift to in the second semester of the year that the students are in.
