We only have a day to go before Sony unveils its attachable camera lens— likely to be called EspressOnor Smart Shot— at a pre-IFA press conference in Berlin. Just yesterday, we saw the first set of high-quality photos of these lens attachments and now Photo Rumors (via The Verge) has posted yet another comprehensive gallery of both versions of the attachable lenses.
The gallery of 24 photos shows the lenses from all possible angles and you also get to see their actual size. If you are wondering why the photos have blurred sections, it is because they contained “inappropriate political messages”, according to Photo Rumors. One of the photos also shows a sort of attachable case, which could be an adapter for phones which are not compatible with these lenses by default.
To recap on what we know so far, these camera lens attachments are not only lenses but complete cameras that will use the phone’s display as the viewfinder. They will connect via Bluetooth and will be offered in two variants— DSC-QX100 and the DSC-QX10. The former (likely to be priced at $450) is said to feature a 20.2-megapixel sensor, an f/1.8 aperture and 3.6x optical zoom, while the latter (likely to be priced at $250), will come with an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor and an f/3.5-3.9 lens. Both lenses are also said to include Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
Both lenses are also reported to having a dedicated power button, microphone, display panel for battery and SD card, a tripod mount, a dedicated shutter button, a multifunctional jack, and a zoom lever.
